About Dr. Akpeke
Michael Akpeke, M.B., B.S., M.D. is board certified in Internal Medicine and the Founding Physician at Delta Internal Medicine Center, P.A. He is also on staff at Orlando Regional Medical Center and Advent Health South.
Dr. Akpeke completed received his medical degree at the University of Ibadan College of Medicine in Ibadan, Nigeria in 1995. He then moved to the United States to complete two internal medicine residency programs in New York; one at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and the other at Harlem Hospital.
In 2005, Dr. Akpeke moved to Florida and in 2009, he opened Delta Internal Medicine Center, P.A. in Downtown Orlando where his focus is on primary care.
Dr. Akpeke is committed to providing his patients with comprehensive and compassionate treatment. With an emphasis on preventative health and wellness, he focuses on the root cause of underlying symptoms and diseases. Through his careful attention to detail, his expertise in medical diagnosis, and his investment in your short and long-term health, Dr. Akpeke can ensure both the maintenance of your well-being and that you never leave the office uncertain about what you just discussed with him.
As one of the few private doctors that has hospital privileges, Dr. Akpeke is able to attend to the needs of his patients if a hospital admission is ever warranted.
For this reason, Dr. Akpeke has been voted one of the best physicians in Central Florida.

We have made prior arrangements with many insurance companies and health plans. We will file claims with those plans with whom we have an agreement with. We will collect any required co-payment, co-insurance, or deductible at the time of service. In the event your health plan determines services to be “not covered”, you will be responsible for the complete charge. While we may be in network with the following insurance companies, we may not take every plan that is offered. In addition to the list below, we also accept most secondary insurances which are an automatic crossover from Medicare Part B. We do not accept HMO or Medicare Replacement plans which are a HMO plan. Please either contact your insurance company directly or our office to verify we accept your plan prior to your visit.
